Collage

You had to make a collage, which expressed your character. For this you could use pictures from the internet or from magazines. The only thing we had to pay attention to, is that we couldn’t use text in the pictures.
For the background I used a movie board, because I watch a lot of movies. I also used some pictures from some covers. Later I realised that there was text on the front, which wasn’t allowed. I decided to leave it this way, because I liked it the most.
The teacher gave me a 7.8 and I am very happy with my mark.

Book jackets

For this assignment we had to make a book jacket for an existing book of for an imaginary book. We could use any material, which was available in the classroom.
I decided to make a cover for a book written by Tess Gerristen, The Surgeon. This is a crime book, so I wanted to show this. I tried to do this by making blood strikes for red ink. In the book they are trying to find evidence and that’s why I made some fingerprints. I used the cones and the yellow cards to show it is a crime scene.
For this assignment I got a 7.3 and I am pleased with this mark.

Making self-portraits

For this assignment we had to make two self-portraits. This had to be done in the Vincent van Gogh style, which means short stripes next to each other and that might cross each other. For the background you had to pick two colours, for the clothes two and for the face two. In the second painting these colours needed to be different from the first painting. Those colours had to fit with your personality and your emotions at the moment of painting.
I like the unfinished painting the most, I like the bright colours. From the finished painting I really dislike the hair, because it looks like I have short hair. I also do not really like the dark colours; I wish I had used different colours.
I had a 7.3 for this assignment and I am really happy with this mark. I did not like the paintings so much, so I was kind of surprised with this mark.

Fashion design

For this assignment we had to design clothes for a certain target group. We needed to draw three sets of clothes for the target group we chose.
I chose as a target group Hip Hop because I really like the clothes which Hip Hop dancers wear. The cloth designs for the two girl shows a lot of details. You can see all the accessories by themselves and when worn by a person. With the boy you only see the clothes which he wears.
I had a 7.3 for this assignment and I’m very happy with that. It was a nice, but difficult assignment and I enjoyed working on it. 

Impressionism

For the assignment we had to make a painting with impressionism. This had to be a landscape with different object in there.
I took this picture because I really like the different colours in it. Of my work I mostly liked the water in the front and the trees in the back. I really don’t like the rocks in the middle and the pink mountain in the back of the painting.
My teacher gave me a 6.5 which I really found disappointing.

Skateboard

Make a skateboard with pop art or graffiti art, that was the assignment. For colouring we could only use wax crayons.
I wanted to do something different, so I made all kinds of cards with little texts. I glued these cards on my skateboard and on top I put two white feet.
This work got an 8 and I appreciate that. I had to work hard to finish it in time, so my hard work wasn’t for nothing.

Keith Haring bike

The assignment
We had to make a kind of Keith Haring bike with pop art or graffiti art. For colouring you could use colour pencils or felt tip pens.

What I did
I decided to use a lot of colour in my bike. I wanted it to look cheerful and that it would draw attention. In the wheels I drew the kind of figures Keith Haring always draws. I drew a black line around the whole bike which make the colours jump out.

My mark
I had an 8 for my work and I'm happy with that. I worked really hard on it and I wanted it to look nice. This mark shows that I did a pretty good job.

Expressionism

Listen to some classical music and paint your feelings, that's all we had to do. The paintings we made, we had to cut en tear and from the pieces we had to make a new painting with patterns on it, During the listening part we only had to put some stripes of paint on a piece of paper. I used in the beginning dark colour, but at the end I decided to use bright colours because I like those more. From my paintings I made two new patterns, one on soft music and one on dark, heavy music. The kind of music is shown in my pattern.

I had an eight for this work which is more than I expected. Some of parts of the patterns were loose, so I almost lost those. But the teacher liked it anyway.
